DC Pickleball Team

Overview

The Brooklyn Pickleball Team, otherwise know as the DC Pickleball team is a Major League Pickleball team that play for broadcasting networks such as ESPN, MSG Network, Tennis Channel, and Youtube Live. This sport is an up and coming sport that is growing insanely fast, because pickleball is the most accessible and versatile sport in the world.

My Role

I was first delegated the role a graphic design intern for the team but the team manager really loved working with me and reaches out occasionally for new work. In my role as a graphic designer for the D.C. Pickleball team, I'm responsible for crafting and structuring digital materials aimed at promoting both the team and the major league pickleball sport. This involves working both independently and collaboratively with a team of fellow designers and video editors. I also collaborate closely with our Chief Operating Officer, our sponsors, and the Major League Pickleball organization to get the green light on projects before they go public. Our goal is to increase the popularity of pickleball through creative design strategies while generating enthusiasm for the sport by effectively marketing our team.

I also had the privilege to design merchandise for the team, including a celebratory championship hat and sweatshirt for the 23' Dallas event.

Impact

‍My experience with the DC Pickleball team, now formally known as the Brooklyn Pickleball Team after the team management swap has helped me tremendously. My dream career is to be working for sports media and entertainment. Not only has this increase my chances of working in this field but it has also helped me impress new employers. It is such a privilege to be able to create graphics for ESPN 2, MSG Network, and the Tennis Channel.
